10th Consecutive Debut At #1 On The Country Album Chart

NASHVILLETN – With the “The Boys of Fall” already sitting atop the singles chart, singer songwriter Kenny Chesney lands his new album Hemingway’s Whiskey at Number One on The Billboard 200 Chart, his sixth album to achieve that feat. With  more than 183,000 albums (sold according to Nielson Soundscan), it more than doubles the first week sales of his last album which was his Greatest Hits II released last year, and outpaces the first week sales of his 2008 Lucky Old Sun album. Additionally, it’s his tenth consecutive album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Country Album Chart.

“My sixth number one album feels like my first one,” said an excited Chesney. “I love great songs and I love my fan base that has helped build all this... I'm proud of the songwriters, proud of Buddy Cannon (producer), proud of Renee Bell (EVP A&R Sony Music Nashville), proud of the musicians, and everyone involved in this historic ride we have all been on!!!”

The historic ride includes total album sales of more than 30 million, 20 Number One singles and Pollstar Magazine recently cited Chesney as the second best ticket seller of the decade, behind only Dave Matthews.

Sony Music Nashville Chairman and CEO Gary Overton commented, “We're so proud of Kenny and this is the result of all of the pieces coming together and everyone working as a team. This is a terrific number, and when you factor in a really tough marketplace to that, it's even more impressive.”

While Chesney did not tour in 2010, he spent the year working on his Summer in 3D movie which was released in April and the “Boys of Fall” documentary which includes interviews with some of the biggest names in the sport of football including Joe Namath, Sean Payton, and John Madden. The 90 minute documentary will be available at Wal-Mart on November 9.

New Flavor Friday from Blue Bell..

From KHOU-TV Houston:  BRENHAM, TX -- Blue Bell Ice Cream is teasing a new flavor on its social media feeds. The Texas-based ice cream company has been slowly reintroducing its flavors to many of the markets it had withdrawn from after last year's fatal Listeria outbreak forced them to completely shut down production for a time. During the shutdown, the company worked with outside experts to control and eliminate potential sources of Listeria inside the Texas and Oklahoma facilities where the outbreak originated. While production of the iconic brand has resumed, not all of the company's flavors that were being produced prior to the plant closings are available. Blue Bell has been taking a measured reintroduction, and now has product available in most states and markets where they were prior to the closings. In this week's social media tease, the company says the new flavor will have fans "dancing in the grocery store aisles." Our newest flavor is a combination o…

ARRESTED now in Colorado...but what a story and week for 2 brothers and their stripper sister!

Text messages and tweets by three fugitive siblings who shot at a police officer and robbed a bank reveal a dangerous mindset and a firm bond between the siblings, "We've certainly seen their mindset when... They shot at a law enforcement officer outside of Tampa Bay, Fla., and when they fired inside that bank in Valdosta, Ga. But these additional texts and tweets have given us additional insight," FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett told "Good Morning America" today. " We are concerned and feel that they are going to continue and cause problems to say the least for law enforcement." Ryan Dougherty, 21; his sister Lee Grace E. Dougherty, 29; and half-brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26, have been on the lam since Aug. 2 when they shot at a police officer attempting to pull their white Subaru Impreza over for speeding. A few hours later, they robbed a bank in Georg…
