NASHVILLE, TN, Oct. 7, '10..... Country Music's Keni Thomas heads to New York to sing the National Anthem at Game Four of the Playoffs at the New York Yankees vs. the Minnesota Twins game, Sunday, Oct. 10, at 8:00 pm EST. In October 2009, Thomas kicked off Game One of the World Series in New York, and has returned multiple times in 2010 to sing the Anthem.
This past August, Thomas was inducted into the VFW's Hall of Fame at the 111th National Convention in Indianapolis. Previous entertainers who have received this honor include country music star, Charlie Daniels, award-winning actress and entertainer, Ann Margret, and Hollywood living legend,Mickey Rooney. The prestigious award recognizes entertainers for their distinguished service rendered through outstanding contributions in the field of entertainment.
Thomas was also invited to Washington, DC in August to perform at Glenn Beck's 8/28 "Restoring Honor" rally along with Jo Dee Messina and John Rich. The event, which was attended by an estimated 500,000 people, raised funds for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Thomas is featured in the current issue (Oct. 11, '10) of Country Weekly in "Hot Shots"on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial just prior to his performance.
