NASHVILLE, TN – Oct.19, 2010 – In the past week, multi-platinum country rocker Jason Aldean received two American Music Award nominations for “Favorite Country Male Artist” and “Favorite Country Album,” and an American Country Awards nomination for “Male Artist of the Year.” Aldean has commanded both the radio and sales charts this year, spending more weeks at No. one than any other male artist in the last 18 months with a total of nine weeks.
“No matter what kind of job you do...whether you’re paintin’ houses or waitin’ tables or playin’ music for a living...it always feels good to get a pat on the back and be told that you’re doing a good job...that’s human nature,” said Aldean. “That’s what award nominations mean to me...it’s people saying, ‘hey, we’ve been watching what you’re doing, and we dig it.’ The AMA nominations are especially cool because I’ve never been up in the album category before, so I’m really proud of that because I do feel like it was a special project that really connected with the fans, and it really helped take my career and my live show to a new level.”
Aldean’s fourth studio album, MY KINDA PARTY, is set to be released on Nov. 2 and will follow up his 2009 PLATINUM selling WIDE OPEN. Aldean's first three albums have sold more than 3.5 million copies and spawned nine smash hits. His successful WIDE OPEN arena tour was extended into the fall with sold out shows from coast to coast. Last week, CMT named Aldean one of its “Artist of the Year” and will honor him, along with Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum and the Zac Brown Band in a television special later this Fall.
