Darryl Worley Announces Grand Opening Of TheDarryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center
Nashville, TN - October 19, 2010 - Country star Darryl Worley's vision will soon become a reality when the new Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center celebrates its grand opening on November 3. The two-hour ceremony will take place from 10:00am-12:00pm CT and include comments from Worley and other key speakers.
Previously scheduled to open in early 2011, the new center will be open for business in November 2010. Located on the campus of the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, TN, cancer patients will now be able to receive radiation and chemotherapy without the long drives currently required of many who need these treatments.
Since 2004, the Darryl Worley Foundation and the representatives of Hardin Medical Center and Hardin County Community and Healthcare Foundation have worked tirelessly to raise enough money to meet their $2 million goal for the project. Together, they have raised $1.7 million and hope to be debt free by the time of completion."We will be so pleased to show the new center to our community on November 3," says Charlotte Burns, CEO Hardin Medical Center. "The center is a tribute to the generosity and commitment of Darryl, the Hardin Medical Center Board, the foundations, and our neighbors and friends. It will stand as a reminder of our determination to care for one another and share hope with those we serve."
"The generosity of all the donors from around the country and the Savannah area has been amazing," says Worley. "I think its very surreal that this has happened so fast and just confirms that we are doing God's work. This is a defining moment in my lifetime and career."
