Chris Young has a Bad Flight day...But RCA to the Rescue!

Nashville, TN – RCA Nashville hitmaker Chris Young started today in Seattle and was bound for a connecting flight in Denver, then on to Nashville and his hometown of Murfreesboro, TN, for an acoustic performance and autograph signing – The Big 98 WSIX Presents Chris Young’s Hometown Throwdown CD Release Party – celebrating Tuesday’s release of Chris’ new album, The Man I Want to Be. But the best laid plans sometimes go awry, and mechanical difficulties in Seattle left Chris grounded for an hour-and-a-half, delaying him long enough to miss his Denver connection and find nothing available in the MileHighCity that would get him to Murfreesboro and his hometown fans for his 6 PM appearance. Enter Chris’ record label, RCA Nashville, who told the “Gettin’ You Home” singer, “We’re gettin’ you home!”Some fast arrangements and a private plane later, Chris is on his way and on track to make his 6 PM hometown gig! It’s a free show, followed by an autograph signing, so if you’re in the area, be sure…

Trace Adkins Goes for Another Movie

Nashville, TN - August 31, 2009...Multi-faceted country star Trace Adkins has joined the cast of the independent feature film LIFTED, currently shooting in Birmingham, Alabama. It is the first feature to be made under the new Alabama incentive program that was passed to develop the state's entertainment industry.  Written and directed by Lexi Alexander (Green Street Hooligans, Punisher: Warzone) and produced by Deborah Del Prete (Wedding Planner, The Spirit), Lifted is the story of Henry Matthews, an exceptionally talented young singer, whose happy family life is disrupted when his Marine father is re-deployed to Afghanistan.  Henry, despite many obstacles, is inspired to compete in a teen singing competition.

Nashville, TN – RCA Nashville hitmaker Chris Young has an outright smash on his hands with his Top-15-and-climbing single, “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” and fans will get to enjoy that song and much more with the Tuesday, September 1 release of Young’s sophomore album, The Man I Want to Be. It’s Young’s first album since his self-titled 2006 release earned him the highest selling album debut by a new country male that year, and fans aren’t the only ones who’ve been anxious since then to see a new project available from Chris. He says, “I can’t wait for people to have my music again and be able to listen to this record and really be with something that I think … you know, I’m a little biased ‘cause it’s my record,” he laughs, “but I really think this record is fantastic.” With veteran producer James Stroud at the helm, The Man I Want to Be delivers a powerhouse showcase for Young’s inviting baritone, whether singing a duet with Willie Nelson on the Waylon Jennings classic “Ro…

Shania's Birthday Message

Shania's letter to her fans.... Hello everyone, Thought I would drop a line to catch you up on things in my life and what better time than on my birthday.

I feel very much alive and well, ready to take on the gift of another year. I've been on a few interesting trips, reading some helpful and motivating books, meeting fascinating people and getting the most out of life that I possibly can. Living, loving, laughing and dreaming have become highest on my list of priorities. I'm looking for places to be and things to do that inspire me to write and be creative, concentrating on moving on and forward.

When I wake up each day I remind myself how lucky I am to have all the beautiful things I do in my life and allow that gratitude to fuel me for the day, taking one day at a time. I try not to worry about tomorrow since I realize I can't control what it will bring or whether tomorrow will even come. So, I focus on today and treat every minute with the respect it deserves and not…
