BLAKE SHELTON’ S HILLBILLY BONE GARNERS HIGHEST DEBUT ALBUM ON BILLBOARD TOP 200
Nashville, TN – Reprise/Warner Bros. Records Recording Artist Blake Shelton will definitely celebrate with a SIX PAK today as his new SIX PAK album, Hillbilly Bone, debuts at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, making it this week's highest charting debut album and his highest debut of his career on the all-genre chart. The new album also came in at No. 2 on the Top Country Albums Chart, selling 71,009. Hillbilly Bone was released on March 2 and includes the title track, which is his fastest rising single of his career, featuring longtime friend, Trace Adkins.
Shelton recently made several national TV appearances in support of his new album and Harry Smith from CBS’ “The Early Show” said to Shelton when referencing the single “Hillbilly Bone,” “This song has just taken off and has a whole life of its own. I think it really is about you … about your kind of music. Because you sing the good ballads, you sing the good time songs and this may be the best good time song.” Several national and regional media outlets raved about the new album, including theThe Washington Post, which said, “’6 Paks’ may not work for every artist, but for someone such as Shelton, a solid performer from whom a little goes a long way, they may be just right.”
In addition to the comedic, sing-along duet with Trace Adkins, “Hillbilly Bone,” the new album includes five new tracks from Shelton. Hillbilly Bone is produced by Scott Hendricks. His last single, "I’ll Just Hold On," broke into the Top 10 on the country singles charts and was the follow-up to his back-to-back multi-week No. 1 singles "She Wouldn’t Be Gone” and “Home.” Shelton's hits also include his six-week No. 1 debut single, "Austin," and two additional multi-week No. 1singles "The Baby” and “Some Beach.”
