Jake Owen Is Ready to Hit the Airwaves with “Tell Me”

New Single from Owen’s Easy Does It Collection Is at Radio Now

Nashville, TN – RCA Nashville hitmaker Jake Owen thunders into country radio this week with his new single, “Tell Me,” one of the most distinctive tracks from his Easy Does It collection and the one he playfully calls his “Bonanza song.”

Written by Owen, Don Poythress, and album producer Jimmy Ritchey, “Tell Me” is one of eight tracks that Jake co-wrote for Easy Does It, and it’s one of his favorites.

Lyrically, it’s about wishing he’d been warned about the hurt of a good love gone wrong, but sonically, he says, “The intro to it really sets the mood.  There’s got to be a feel for me.  I have to feel something when I listen to a song, and ‘Tell Me’ is a lot like that.  It’s got this dark, mysterious kind of sound to it.  It starts out with kind of the John Wayne riding in on the open range, then you’ve got like the Bonanza thing in there.”

“Jake Owen kicks off his sophomore effort in rakish lonely-rambler style with the dark, driving ‘Tell Me,’” was Entertainment Weekly’s description of the album-opener and new single, which follows the #2 smash, “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” and Owen’s recent Top 10, “Eight Second Ride,” as the third single from Easy Does It.

Be watching for Jake on the road all spring and summer, with upcoming dates in Hampton, VA (3/21), Sioux City, IA (3/25), Lincoln, NE (3/26), and St. Charles, MO (3/27).  For a complete list of upcoming concerts and more, visit Jake online at www.jakeowen.net or www.myspace.com/jakeowen.

Since releasing his debut album, Startin’ with Me, in 2006, RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen has celebrated five consecutive Top 15 singles.  Owen has appeared on such national programs as ABC’s Good Morning America and the primetime CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock, and has toured non-stop with the biggest names in country music.  Jake has received nominations for Country Music Association Awards, a GRAMMY Award, and was named Top New Male Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April of last year.  His sophomore album, Easy Does It, released on February 24, 2009.
