Alan Jackson Celebrates Tuesday Release of FREIGHT TRAIN with New York Visits to Today,Letterman
New Album Features Hit First Single, “It’s Just That Way”
Upcoming TV to Include Private Sessions, Leno, Ellen; Tour Kicks Off April 8
Nashville, TN - Superstar Alan Jackson will celebrate tomorrow’s launch of his new album, FREIGHT TRAIN, with street-date performances on NBC’s Today show in the morning, followed by a late-night visit to CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman.
The appearances are the kick-off to the continuing excitement surrounding Jackson ’s new album, with his New York visit also set to include a taping of A&E’s acclaimed interview & performance series, Private Sessions with Lynn Hoffman. Featuring an extended interview, as well as performances of classic Jackson songs and material from FREIGHT TRAIN, the hourlong episode will premiere Sunday, April 11, at 9 AM ET on A&E.
Upcoming television will also include visits to NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 14 and the syndicated Ellen DeGeneres Show on April 16.
April 16 will also mark a special day in Jackson ’s career, when the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce presents him with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Open to the public, the ceremony will take place at 11:30 AM local time, with Jackson ’s star located at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard , just steps from multiple Hollywood landmarks and near stars from such notables as John Travolta, The Doors, and Judy Holliday.

FREIGHT TRAIN is Jackson ’s newest album since GOOD TIME, his March 2008 collection which produced three #1 singles and was released to critical acclaim.
