ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEWAY / E-Z-GO 200 POST RACE QUOTES
Saturday, March 6, 2010

KEVIN HARVICK (Winner, No. 2 E-Z-GO CHEVROLET): We just had a great truck. The thing about truck racing is on these big race tracks the draft sometimes come into effect. Sometimes you get shuffled back, but if we could keep our track position and get a good restart and get down to the bottom of the race track and get a little air on the front of their noses, it seemed like after six or seven laps we could start pulling away. When you have the sponsor on your truck and they sponsor the race too, that makes life good. We didn’t make a whole lot of changes on the truck all weekend (You build a lot of new trucks; you’re going to have to race a used one eventually) Nope -- we sell ‘em. We probably have a third of the field on the race track. We have a lot of customers we hang bodies for. That’s what keeps our teams going. They want this one, they can come have this one too. (You told Hornaday to stay out) The smoking had completely gone away, but it must have broke those cords down enough to blow the tire out. Those guys are in a hole, but we’ll keep giving them good trucks. You have some good days and some bad days. They’ve had two bad days, but they’ve had a lot of good days too. They are just in a little bit of a slump right now. (You’ve supplanted Kyle Busch as the favorite in NCWTS) A lot of the reason we race trucks is to make sure Kyle Busch doesn’t win all those races. That’s the honest truth. That’s the reason we started running more truck races, to protect him from winning 7-8 races a year. But he’s gonna win his fair share still because he’s a good driver.

ERNIE COPE (Crew chief, No. 2 E-Z-GO CHEVROLET): We made one adjustment: took three-tenths of air out of the right rear on our first stop and never touched it again.

KYLE BUSCH (2nd place, No. 18 Toyota Tundra Toyota): It was a good day for Kyle Busch Motorsports. It was a true test of what this team will do this year; this was a start for us. We had a really good truck. Not quite as fast as we would have like to have been, but we still had a decent effort. We’re a young team, and this was good to come out of the box here and run strong. Excited about what happens next. (Conscious of ownership role on track?) I wasn’t giving a pep talk, but I was giving some ideas for Taylor to drive while we were out there. Looked like he was mired back in the teens all day, and I saw that, so under caution I’d tell my spotter and he’d go talk to his spotter. I’m always trying to do my part and give some advice.

ARIC ALMIROLA (3rd place, No. 51 Graceway Pharmaceuticals Toyota): We had a good day. It was not what we wanted obviously; everybody comes here to win, but another top-five for us. We continue to put ourselves in a position to win races and run strong every week. The truck was not exactly as it needed to be, but all in all, I’m really proud of all the guys at our race shop. We’re not all the way there, but we’re gaining on it. Makes me proud to see their hard work pay off.

AUSTIN DILLON (10th place, No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet): That was our plan to go out and run all the laps and try to get us a top-10. Really good for rookie race too go out and get experience. (Is Atlanta like a dirt track?) This place is totally different than dirt. You can take the experience and run sideways but this place is totally different than any dirt place I’ve run. You’re running wide open.

I've always been a believer in the strength of the song. My problem is I'm a country singer who's had a lot of other musical influences, so my stuff is going to tend to be more AC. That's always been my slam in country music, that I was never a true country artist, even though ...
