■ STEEL MAGNOLIA’S MEGHAN AND JOSH EXCITED TO JOIN BRAD PAISLEY’S H2O TOUR: Steel Magnolia’s Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones will be joining Brad Paisley’s H2O World Tour, it was officially announced this week. With Chevy as the title sponsor, H2O World Tour will hit more than 75 cities in the United States, Canada and Europe over the next 12 months. Special guests will be Darius Rucker and Justin Moore. H2O World Tour will include a “Water World Plaza,” sponsored by Sea Ray Boats and Skinny Water, and will turn every city into a water festival. Focal point in the Plaza area will be the “Water World Plaza Stage” featuring emerging new stars Easton Corbin, Steel Magnolia and Josh Thompson. The tour extravaganza will open each day at 4:00pm with music starting at 5:00pm. In addition to the music stage there will be multiple water-themed activities – including a Chevy H2O FLW fishing simulator, dunking booth, Hope Through Healing Hands’ campaign booth, and more. “It’s a huge honor to be selected by Brad to join his tour this year,” notes Josh this week from Nashville. “He’s such an amazing guitar player and entertainer, and we are humbled by the fact that he thinks enough of us to allow us to bring our music to his fans. Right now, we are in the process of putting together a full band and getting the set list just right,” continues Josh. “When you are given the chance to go out on a big tour like this, you want to step up your game and make sure you are giving it your all.” Check out the full list of tour dates below in Steel Magnolia’s artist section.
■ FOR JARON, IT TOOK PROFESSIONAL TIME APART FROM HIS TWIN BROTHER TO FIND HIS OWN VOICE: As Jaron of Jaron And The Long Road To Love sees “Pray For You”, his debut single as a solo artist, soar up the charts, the singer-songwriter reminisces on the long journey of finding his own voice, following years of success with twin brother Evan [as Evan & Jaron - “Crazy For The Girl”]. “If you want to know the difference between Evan and Jaron, you’ve got to ask somebody else, because the truth is, I don’t know,” muses Jaron from a Nashville studio, where he is hard at work completing his debut solo album. “I really don’t know. I will tell you that we’re best friends, we’re partners. We’ve always been partners. He started the band. He started me into music, in fact, he pushed me into it. I had no say! He started playing guitar and he was like, ‘We’re doing a band.’ And I was like, ‘What? We’re going to college.’ He said, ‘Mmm mmm.’ So, he’s always been the rock and always led everything,” Jaron continues. “That’s why it took me so long to go out on my own. I was thinking, ‘I’m not gonna go without him.’ But, then I realized that this is my time to get my vision out there.” As Jaron embarks on this new musical journey, he knows it will feel different this time, especially not having Evan by his side. “Evan’s always been an incredibly hard worker—he ran the show. He’s much more rooted than I am. I’m a little bit out there!,” Jaron says with a smirk. “I think they call it a free spirit. I love to have a lot of fun. I am a deep guy, but I do like to have fun. So I’m sure there will be many calls to Evan from the road to help keep me focused.”
■ JACK INGRAM’S TOURING FUTURE MAY INCLUDE A LONGTIME FRIEND: One of Jack Ingram’s best friends, fellow Texas-native Pat Green, is currently back on the road. With Pat on his own tour and Jack wrapping up his sold-out Acoustic Motel Tour and gearing up for a summer run on the COUNTRY Throwdown Tour, we asked Jack whether or not they might tour together one day. “Pat and I talk about it a lot,” notes Jack. “You know, seven years ago, we went out together when he asked me to do a run of shows with him. And it was a ton of fun then, and I am certain it would be a ton of fun if we were to do something together again.” While both singers are predominantly known for their country-rock live shows, Pat and Jack certainly don’t shy away from ballads in concert. "I think my friendJack Ingram put it best,” Pat recently told AOL’s The Boot. “Slow songs can really rock, too. If it's a really great song, it doesn't matter if it's slow or fast.”
