FOR SAN ANTONIO AND NASHVILLE
Nashville, TN (March 12, 2010) – At the opening festivities of the 28th Annual George Strait Team Roping Classic finals in San Antonio today, George Strait announced to the hometown crowd that he is bringing his superstar tour to the Alamodome. The stadium show is scheduled for May 1st and includes the King of Country Music along with Reba and special guests Lee Ann Womack and the Randy Rogers Band. Tickets go on sale March 27th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster.
Earlier this week, Strait announced plans to perform a full concert in Nashville, for the first time since 2004 when he broke the house record for most attendance. The Music City date is set for April 28th at theBridgestone Arena and will also include 2010 tour mates Reba and Lee Ann Womack. George Strait has sold out and broken numerous attendance records on his tour again this year including Phoenix, AZ, Wichita, KS, Tulsa, OK, New Orleans, LA, Kansas City, MO, Omaha, NE, Orlando, Fl and Des Moines, IA. Among those, he set a house attendance record of 18,000 at the Bank of Oklahoma Center in Tulsa, OK.
Strait, named Artist of the Decade last year, is nominated this year for ACM Entertainer of the Year for the 12th time and Top Male Vocalist for the 20th time, bringing the ACM Artist of the Decade’s all-time record to81 ACM nominations. The ACMS will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 18 at 8:00 PM live EST on CBS.
