New song from James Otto

James Otto Shows His Respect And Gratitude
To His Heroes With His New Single
Entitled - “Soldiers & Jesus”

“Soldiers & Jesus” Is From His Upcoming Album,
Shake What God Gave Ya, To Be Released
September 14 From Warner Bros. Records

Nashville, TN –Warner Bros. Records Recording Artist James Otto is showing his respect and gratitude to his heroes with his new single entitled “Soldiers & Jesus” to hit country radio airwaves immediately. The song is from his upcoming album, Shake What God Gave Ya, to be released September 14.
The track was co-written by Otto and Chris Wallin, and co-produced by Otto and Grammy Award-winning record producer and session guitarist Paul Worley (Big & Rich, Dixie Chicks, Lady Antebellum). Otto’s traditional military upbringing inspired this song, which expresses his deep appreciation for all of the people who have served our country and offered to lay down their lives for others.

“I'm part of a military family. My dad was an Army Ranger drill sergeant for 23 years—and my grandfather is a Korean War vet; I served in the Navy myself,” Otto shares. “Also, being a guy who considers himself a Christian, I think this song has a interesting twist:  'there are only two people that have ever given their lives for me, and it has been soldiers and Jesus.'” Otto continues, “Regardless of the politics that can often divide our nation, I think it's always important to support our troops who defend our right to worship as we each see fit.”

Otto was most recently on the road opening for Toby Keith and Trace Adkins on the American Ride Tour and will be headlining solo dates this fall with upcoming shows in Florence, KY (9/3); Madison, WI (9/4); Idabel, OK (9/6), and Clarksville, TN (9/10).

James Otto is 100 percent country, but he’s also got a heart full of soul. His signature soulful sound broke through with his smash hit, “Just Got Started Loving You”—which was declared the No. 1 country single of 2008 by Billboard. This track is from his album, Sunset Man, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart, scored three singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and remained in the Top 5 Country Albums chart for six weeks after its release in April 2008. Last year, Otto won an ACM and CMA Award in the Song of the Year category as a co-writer for “In Color” (a track that also earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song).

I've always been a believer in the strength of the song. My problem is I'm a country singer who's had a lot of other musical influences, so my stuff is going to tend to be more AC. That's always been my slam in country music, that I was never a true country artist, even though &q
