JOSH KELLEY HITS COUNTRY MUSIC AIRWAVES
WITH “GEORGIA CLAY”
FIRST SINGLE FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM AVAILABLE AT ITUNES NOW
NASHVILLE, TN – MCA Nashville singer/songwriter Josh Kelley storms onto country radio this week with his highly anticipated single, “Georgia Clay.” The song is Kelley’s first foray into the country music market and has been described as a “soaring-yet-earthy, summer romance tune that places him squarely in the country mainstream”.
This personal track written by Kelley, his brother Charles Kelley, and producer Clint Lagerberg serves as a flashback to his youth in Georgia and of his dad’s old truck that was the source of many “firsts” in his life. Musically, the single showcases a pickin’ style riff on guitar, as well as a soaring chorus that blends Kelley’s smooth vocals with lap steel and electric guitar.
“This song takes me back to Georgia every time I sing it. No matter where I go in this world, I will never wash away my southern roots, just like that ‘Georgia Clay’ on my dad’s old truck. I am so proud of this song and can’t wait for everyone to hear it,” Kelley said.
The track is now available at iTunes here: http://bit.ly/JoshKelleyGeorgiaClay .
Kelley is currently on the road performing new music, with upcoming dates in Indianapolis, IN (8/20) and Augusta, GA (8/28). He is also slated as an opening act for Miranda Lambert this fall on the “CMT on Tour with Miranda Lambert-REVOLUTION 2010” which kicks off in New York City on September 29th.
Georgia native Josh Kelley signed with MCA Nashville in September of 2009 after experiencing musical success with the release of his six previous studio albums; including the critically-acclaimed For The Ride Home which featured his top-5 hit "Amazing". The singer/songwriter declared that he finally feels at home, singing music from the genre he grew up on. Kelley has previously appeared on Good Morning America, Regis & Kelly, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
