Miranda & the Theme of Getting Even

Miranda Lambert is having great fun with her new song, “Only Prettier,” and part of the reason is because she says that the spirit of the song is so true to who she is — and she also loves that fact that it’s a whole new spin on the “getting even” theme, but this time, she’ll kill ‘em with kindness.
“My whole deal is always, like, guns and revenge and fightin’ and settin’ things on fire, but this is just a whole new take, and it’s like, nevermind, I’ve grown up a little bit, and maybe I’ll just kill you with kindness, literally. (laughs) You know, it’s like, it’s such a cool twist on it. And we all have those people that were better than us or thought they were, and that’s kind of my anthem to say, you know, ‘You’re all right, but I’m actually prettier than you in the reality of things, so I don’t know where you get off thinkin’ that you can be rude.’ (laughs) And it’s so much fun because it really is me, too.”
  • If you don’t own Miranda’s Revolution album, you’re missing out! The ACM Album of the Year winner includes ”Only Prettier” and back-to-back number-one hits with “The House That Built Me” and “White Liar,” plus much more!
  • Don’t miss Miranda as she takes center stage for Invitation Only: Miranda Lambert, featuring an intimate performance and audience Q&A this coming Monday, August 23rd, at 9pm, ET, on CMT!
