FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

COUNTRY STAR MIRANDA LAMBERT TO HOST HER
THIRD ANNUAL “CAUSE FOR PAWS” BENEFITTING
THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF EAST TEXAS

With special guests Whiskey Myers, Kacey Musgraves and GAC’s Nan Kelley

Nashville, TN (February 9, 2010) --- General admission tickets to Miranda Lambert’s Third Annual “Cause for Paws” Benefit go on sale this Wednesday, February 10 at 10 a.m. CT.  The concert event and live auction benefitting The Humane Society of East Texas will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Villa de Felicita in Tyler, Texas.  Thanks to Miranda’s loyal Ran Fans and the East Texas Citizens, The Humane Society of East Texas has become a no kill sanctuary since the fundraiser began three years ago.

This year, the platinum-selling recording artist, 3x Grammy nominee and animal activist will bring together friends and family along with special guests Whiskey Myers, Kacey Musgraves and Nan Kelley for an intimate evening of fantastic music, delicious cuisine and a serene setting at the beautiful Villa Di Felicita.

"I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together for my charity," states an enthusiastic Lambert.  "The shelter, which is run entirely on donations, was able to make great improvements and create better living conditions for the animals of East Texas last year, but there is still so much that needs to be done for the abused and unwanted animals of East Texas.”

Activities at the event will include musical performances, a live and silent auction, and food and wine. Miranda’s road buddy, Delilah, will surely make a special appearance at the event again this year.

Cause for Paws isn't the only time Miranda lends her voice and celebrity to little creatures who can't speak for themselves.  This week, she and Blake Shelton hosted the "Hearts and Tails" benefit.

"Because of the amazing response and the support of the community we had for the "Hearts and Tails" benefit in 2009, we've been able to do some wonderful things for the animals in Tishomingo," said Miranda. "This year, my charity MuttNation Foundation hopes to build on that success and continue to help unwanted and abandoned pets.”

ARRESTED now in Colorado...but what a story and week for 2 brothers and their stripper sister! Text messages and tweets by three fugitive siblings who shot at a police officer and robbed a bank reveal a dangerous mindset and a firm bond between the siblings, "We've certainly seen their mindset when... They shot at a law enforcement officer outside of Tampa Bay, Fla., and when they fired inside that bank in Valdosta, Ga. But these additional texts and tweets have given us additional insight," FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett told "Good Morning America" today. " We are concerned and feel that they are going to continue and cause problems to say the least for law enforcement." Ryan Dougherty, 21; his sister Lee Grace E. Dougherty, 29; and half-brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26, have been on the lam since Aug. 2 when they shot at a police officer attempting to pull their white Subaru Impreza over for speeding.
