Steve Martin and Dogs


Los Angeles, California, October 14, 2009 – Steve Martin would like everyone to make a video for “Wally On The Run” with their dogs.  Steve wrote the song, featured on his current CD The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo CD, for his beloved canine Wally. Steve speaks about the contest on his newly re-launched website www.stevemartin.com. He has partnered with Dailymotion to create a site to view his video, download the track, upload your own video submissions and view videos from other entrants:  http://www.dailymotion.com/group/WallyOnTheRunThis site goes active today and the contest ends December 1.  Steve himself will select the final first prize winner, who will receive $1000.  The runner up will receive $.99 as a refund for the purchase of the song.


The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo (Rounder) was #1 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums chart for 12 straight weeks. Steve recently received two awards from the IBMAs and appeared last week on David Letterman and The View in support of the CD and his music concert tour with the Steep Canyon Rangers listed below:

Steve Martin is a three-time Grammy® winner, the latest for his collaboration with Earl Scruggs on Foggy Mountain Breakdown (2001) and two for comedy albums Wild and Crazy Guy (1978) and Let’s Get Small (1977.) After playing on the Grammy® Award winning Foggy Mountain Breakdownwith Earl Scruggs, Martin began writing a string of new banjo songs, some with lyrics and some as instrumentals.
