FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ANNUAL BISCUITS & BLUEGRASS FALL FESTIVAL RETURNS TOMORROW, OCTOBER 10, 2009
Community Event Provides FREE Music, Food and Fun for the Whole Family
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--October 9, 2009-- The Loveless Cafe is gearing up for the fifth annual Biscuits & Bluegrass fall festival, to be held tomorrow, October 10 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Nothing says Nashville more than Biscuits and Bluegrass and that is once again what the Loveless Cafe is serving up to celebrate community and tradition. For the past four years, thousands have flooded the Loveless property to enjoy this FREE event. In the midst of all of the national attention the Cafe receives from the likes of CBS's "Early Show," Food Network's "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" and Travel Channel's "Great Weekends with Samantha Brown," it is the local community that keeps the Cafe's roots firmly planted in the traditions and values on which it was founded. Biscuits & Bluegrass was created as a way of giving back to the community that has supported the Cafe for more than 50 years.
As in previous years, there will be many activities including face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, arts and crafts demonstrations (weaving, pottery, wood turning, fabric dyeing, painting and jewelry making) as well as a cash bar for adults. "Don't forget the biscuits," laughs Carol Fay (aka the Biscuit Lady). "You can't have Biscuits & Bluegrass without my biscuits and this year we are getting down and dirty!" In addition to biscuit samples for everyone, there are a number of biscuit themed contests that might get a little messy, like a biscuit throwing contest and the ever-popular biscuit eating contest!
There will also be artist booths displaying photography, textiles, jewelry, painting and mixed media. Folks can also enjoy a live all-star bluegrass pickin' circle and be sure to bring your instrument so you can join the impromptu pickin' parties. Attendees won't want to miss the grand opening of the new Sugar Shack. Filled with every candy you can imagine from Bit-O-Honey to Wax Lips the shack has all the retro candies you remember as a kid. It is the perfect stop to fill your sweet tooth! The Loveless Motel Shops including Shimai, Ruthie Cherry Fine Art Gallery, Curious Heart Emporium, Trace Bikes and Hams & Jams Country Market will all be having sidewalk sales as well.
"Biscuits & Bluegrass make sweet music together every fall at the Loveless Cafe," says Jesse Goldstein of the Loveless Cafe. "We are proud to be part of this community and want to continue to make Biscuits & Bluegrass a tradition for all ages and an event in which Music City and our neighbors can take pride."About Loveless Cafe:
