LUKE BRYAN’S INAGURAL ‘FARM TOUR’ SHOW
PLAYS FOR 3,500 FANS
Nashville (October 7, 2009) – Capitol Records Nashville artist Luke Bryan played his inaugural Farm Tour show Monday night at the Hurricane Branch Plantation in Claxton, Georgia just outside of Statesboro. Rain hampered the area most of day and evening but the weather did not deter fans who began arriving at 4pm and continued through the gates for a solid 4 ½ hours until Bryan took the stage performing for 3,500 fans. Monies raised will go to a scholarship fund for students at Georgia Southern University, Bryan ’s alma mater. Colt Ford opened the show.
“I felt like a kid at Christmas,” says Bryan . “I am so proud for everyone who was involved in putting this show together and it was truly one of the best nights ever!”
The brainstorm for the Farm Tour concept came from Bryan as a way to give back to a charity or organization in local farming communities.These special one-off shows will continue throughout Bryan ’s career with additional dates already planned for 2010. Monday’s show was the kick-off for Bryan ’s Doing My Thing album launch where he will visit 9 cities in 9 days meeting fans at in stores, visiting radio stations and performing.
