A bunch of different things...

  • Happy birthday to Alan Jackson, who celebrates his big day this Saturday, October 17th!
  • Kenny Chesney performs this Saturday on Austin City Limits! Look for it on your local PBS station! And check out Kenny’s interview with ACL online now at austincitylimits.org.
  • Craig Morgan and Chris Young head overseas later this month as part of a Stars for Stripes tour visiting hospitals and military bases in Iraq and Germany. GAC’s Nan Kelley will serve as emcee on the tour, which will include a series of acoustic concerts. GAC will also be documenting the trip for a one-hour special set to air in December.
  • And speaking of Craig Morgan, congratulations to Craig on winning Video of the Year at last night’s 15th Annual Inspirational Country Music Award Show, where Craig sang and was honored for his hit, “God Must Really Love Me.” That song, as well as Craig’s hot new smash, “Bonfire,” can both be found on his latest album, That’s Why.
  • New Releases: And while we’re on the subject of cool videos, you can own your very own copies of new music videos from Kenny Chesney (”I’m Alive”), Josh Thompson (”Beer on the Table”), and Miranda Lambert (”White Liar”)! All three release digitally on Tuesday, October 20th — shop for them online! And don’t miss the just-released Brooks & Dunn video for “Honky Tonk Stomp,” available now!
  • This week, Brad Paisley announced that he’ll be involved in a new television series next season on the CW Network. Brad has partnered with actor Zach Quinto, along with producers Mark Schwann and Corey Moosa and writers Neal Dodson and Matt Bomerto create and co-produce a drama series, tentatively titled Nashville. The show is set to focus on a stardom-bound young female singer, as well as a male songwriter whose career success seems less certain. Brad says he’ll occasionally appear as himself in the show and be involved in the music, too, including some of his own hits as well as those from other artists. In fact, Brad plans on having real-life country celebs seen and not just heard. He says, “Look for some of your favorite country music stars to make their acting debuts on the show — either by playing themselves or as a character in the script. Country songs are like great scripts anyway, and it’s going to be fun to see how some unfold on the show.”
