Luke Part Deux

NASHVILLE, TN – August 5, 2009 - Luke Bryan is set to release his sophomore Capitol Records Nashville album, Doin’ My Thing, October 6. The follow-up to his # 2 debut album,I’ll Stay Me, that produced the hit singles “All My Friends Say” and “Country Man” is being driven by Bryan’s current power ballad “Do I” which is steadily climbing the country charts.

“I can’t wait for my fans to hear my new record,” says Bryan. “I have wrapped 3 years of touring, hard work and most importantly meeting fans and I think all of that growth is reflected on this album. Doin' My Thing will make my die hard fans very happy and hopefully will reach out and grab some new fans. I am very proud of the music on this album and can’t wait to get it out there!"

Bryan, an avid hunter and fisherman, is serving as the 2009 honorary chairman for National Hunting and Fishing Day taking place September 26 - a week before his album release. Past chairmen include actors, entertainers and sports stars like Wade Boggs, Tom Seaver, John Havlicek, Arnold Palmer, Terry Bradshaw and many others.

National Hunting and Fishing Day was formalized by Congress in 1972, as an annual celebration to remind the public that conservation depends on funding and leadership from hunters and anglers. Hunting and fishing licenses, plus special taxes on firearms, ammunition, bows, arrows, rods and reels, generate $100,000 every 30 minutes—totaling more than $1.75 billion per year—for fish, wildlife and habitat. The results benefit all Americans who appreciate wildlife and wild places. No one does more than hunters and anglers for conservation, a great source of pride for more than 34 million sportsmen and women in the U.S.

The Georgia native had a career making 2008 with two major award nominations including the CMT Breakthrough Video of the Year nomination and his first nomination from theAcademy of Country Music for “Best New Male Artist.” He was also chosen as Billboard’s 2007 country artist to watch and landing on “Best of 2007” lists for: Chicago Tribune,Atlanta Journal Constitution, Clear Channel Online Music & Radio to name a few. Bryan has been part of three major tours before this year's Miller Lite tour with some of country music’s biggest artists in 2008 - Kenny Chesney’s “Poets & Pirates” stadium dates, Trace Adkins’ “American Man” tour and Dierks Bentley’s “Throttle Wide Open” tour.
