Cyrus Stalker Goes to Jail Again

Tween sensationMiley Cyrus's creepy stalker - who was arrested a month ago but released because of jail overcrowding - was picked up again.

Mark McLeod, 53, a crazed fan who delusionally insists he is engaged to the 16-year-old "Hannah Montana" superstar, was arrested Tuesday night at his home in Appling, Ga.

He will be charged with criminal attempted stalking.

Cops said he had ignored police orders to stay away from the movie set onTybee IslandnearSavannah, Ga., where the starlet is filmingDisney's "The Last Song."

Tybee Island Police ChiefJim Pricesaid McLeod was arrested after Disney security officers reported he was spotted last weekend on the island 180 miles from his home asking about Cyrus.

"He was asking for Miley and going up and knocking on some doors," Price said. "He went up to the security guards and asked them 'Is Miley around?'"

McLeod was previously arrested on June 22 on charges of disorderly conduct when he tried to breach a security perimeter around the movie set.

He didn't go quietly - screaming obscenities and trying to head-butt one of the arresting officers.

Once subdued, he told police then that he had sent Cyrus hundreds of letters and received her responses in the form of "secret messages" on her television show and web site directed only to him.

Believing that you are receiving secret personal messages delivered through TV or newspapers is a classic symptom of schizophrenia.

When he was arrested in June, police did not order a psychological evaluation and released him after one day because of jail overcrowding, after making him sign a promise to show up at a Sept. 1 court date.

In March, when McLeod traveled toManhattanto see Cyrus at a book signing, he told a Daily News reporter that he is Cyrus' "No. 1 fan."

He said he first saw her in concert inOrlandolast year and since then "I've kinda been watching everything she does."

He told police in June they were secretly engaged after "our eyes met at her concert and we both knew."

He said he had been watching her on the balcony of her hotel and added, "Nobody will ever be able to keep us apart."

McLeod also insisted that her father, country singerBilly Ray Cyrus, had given him his blessing.

"He shook my hand and said 'you're a good man we've been praying for,'" McLeod told police. He also promised to invite arresting officerWarren Millikanto their wedding.
