NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 17, 2009)—Award winning, multi-platinum country recording artistTracy Lawrence will host once again his Mission Possible Turkey Fry, on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 to benefit the Nashville Rescue Mission.
Committed to serving Nashville with music and deed, Lawrence’s annual Turkey Fry (now in its fourth year) has become a highly anticipated event to raise money and generate awareness as well as provide food for the local mission.
“This event is one of my favorites of the year. It’s a true and heartfelt gesture by all; I’m in awe each year in the support from my friends and the community who come out to lend a hand, make a donation, and fry up some turkeys,” Lawrence said.
Joining in on the outdoor fry festivities, in the parking lot of the Nashville Rescue Mission, will be Brad Arnold, Ash Bowers, Burns & Poe, Sarah Darling, Lorrie Morgan and the Titans Cheerleaders with additional celebrities being confirmed daily. Bass Pro Shops, Blue Rhino, Tyson, Carhartt, Brand Centrik, Star Photo and Hot Hands will sponsor the all-day event with their donation of goods, services and time.
The Mission Possible Turkey Fry is open to the public (a gift of a donation is appreciated).
Since the event’s inception, Lawrence and his friends have donated more than 4,000 turkeys, meals valued at $84,000 and raised more than $100,000 for the Mission. Lawrence anticipates the group of celebrity cooks will fry up more than 400 turkeys over the course of the day.
He offered his insight as to the importance of the cause both personally and for Music City’s greater good. His message appears on the mission’s web page:
“Please don’t consider the reasons why you need to walk on by, ask yourself, 'why not?' It just takes a minute to share a smile and share the love with our American brothers and sisters in need,” Lawrence wrote. “’…Heaven knows no greater love than the sacrifice…’ you make to see them through. Your small sacrifice can make BIG changes in someone’s life! IF YOU THINK YOU CAN’T, YOU CAN!”
Tracy Lawrence is songwriter, musician and performing artist who is approaching his 20th year in the music industry. With more than 8 million albums sold, 17 celebrated No. 1 singles (including “Paint Me A Birmingham,” “Alibis” and “Find Out Who Your Friends Are”) and more than 30 charted singles to his name, Lawrence shows no signs of slowing his pace. He released his first inspirational CD entitledTHE ROCK in June and plays nearly 100 shows each year.
