Joe Nichols' New CD Old Things New Scoring High Marks With Critics
Artist Shoots Music Video In San Antonio For Fast Rising Single

Nashville, TN  November 4, 2009 -- Old Things New, the brand new CD from Joe Nichols, is scoring some very high marks with music critics and was this week's highest new CD debut on the country music charts. Additionally, the artist filmed his first ever live performance music video last night in San Antonio, TX in front of a packed house at Cowboys.

"Gimmie That Girl," Nichols' second single from Old Things New and his label Universal Records South, is already one of the fastest moving singles in the artist's career.  After only three weeks, it is already in the 30's on the country music charts and also gave the artist his best first week sales for a single of his career.

The reviews on Old Things New have been equally glowing:

"one of the year's best country albums, …Nichols, with his rich, barrel-deep baritone, sounds like the heir to Johnny Cash."
                                                 -PEOPLE MAGAZINE, "Critic's Choice"

“a performance worthy of vintage Merle Haggard and George Jones.”
                                                                -USA TODAY

"not since George Jones' 'He Stopped Loving Her Today' has a singer sounded so haunted."
                                                                            -WASHINGTON POST

Music fans can expect to see the "Gimmie That Girl" music video by Thanksgiving.  In the meanwhile, Nichols will be featured in a documentary titled "Joe Nichols: My Military Diary," set to premiere on Great American  Country (GAC) Sunday November 8 at 10:00 pm ET. The 30-minute special is an up close and behind the scenes look at Nichols recent trip to Kuwait and Iraq, where he met and performed for thousands of American troops stationed in the countries.
