Lake Martin, AL - More than 4,000 boats and 35,000 people attended Alan Jackson's headline performance at Saturday's AquaPalooza Signature Event on Lake Martin, AL, setting a new record for any single event on a lake. Boats were packed bow to stern for over a mile, and many fans donned their inner tubes and water noodles to paddle close to the water-pit at the bottom of the stage. Jackson pulled up to the dock at the Russell Land Marina in his 1923 Hacker Craft and played hit songs from his current platinum GOOD TIME album. During the show, which was taped for CMT’s Labor Day special, ALAN JACKSON AQUAPALOOZA LIVE ON LAKE MARTIN, Jackson spoke movingly about childhood visits to Lake Martin with his family.

Aquapalooza Information (JULY 25th) By: LakeMartin.com Article Date: 7/17/2009 YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER FOR THE AQUAPALOOZA CONCERT YOU MUST ATTEND THE CONCERT BY BOAT THERE WILL BE NO ACCESS BY LAND If you are not going to moor your boat at the raft-up, things are simple. Just show up in the Kowaliga Bay area in front of Sinclair's Restaurant during the concert times. Observe the NO WAKE zone that covers the entire area between the buoys from Hwy 63 bridge at Kowaliga, across to the tip of an island west of Sinclair's and then across to Governor’s Island. It is a huge area in which the concert can be seen and heard over the water. That's it! Lake Martin - What's being billed as the largest on-the-water party to ever hit Lake Martin has Alabama Marine Police officials working extra hard to make sure that boaters attending Aquapalooza 2009 enjoy the event safely. "We plan to have 24-hour patrols beginning Thursday, July 23rd and running through the following Sunday," said Captain Matt Brooks, District 3 supervisor for the Marine Police Division. "We're bringing officers in from all over the state to help with everything from crowd and traffic control to event security but our primary concern will be that people who come to have a good time do so safely and responsibly." To help ensure the safety of those attending the event, Marine Police officials would like to remind everyone of the following: The main body of water where the concerts will take place will be designated an Idle Speed Only Zone and all boats entering the zone will be required to travel at idle speed or less.
