GLORIANA WINS BREAKTHROUGH ARTIST AWARD AT THE 2009
AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS

Top new country group Gloriana, whose album was released in August and is already the best selling country debut of 2009, won the fan-voted T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award at the 2009 American Music Awards last night. The T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award was the only award where fans could text in their votes and continue to vote during the show.  The foursome walked away with the prestigious award at the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles against Lady GaGa, Keri Hilson and Kid Cudi.

The first call the band received immediately following their win was from Taylor Swift from London to say, “I always believed in you guys and always knew you could do it.” Adding with a laugh “But didn’t actually think you’d do it!!!” Gloriana, who has been on the road with some of country music’s biggest stars including Alan Jackson, Jason Aldean, and Dierks Bentley, will hit the road again next year on Taylor’s FEARLESS 2010 Tour.

“We cannot even put into words right now how thankful we are to the fans who voted for us and to everyone who has made the last couple of months an absolute dream come true,” said Cheyenne Kimball. “This is still a bit surreal for us,” added Tom Gossin. “It’s such an honor to win an American Music Award, especially since it is voted on by fans and we are so grateful to have amazing fans.”

Gloriana’s debut single “Wild At Heart” is the best selling single by a new country artist in 2009 having sold over 375,000 copies to date. Their self-titled album, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Country Album Chart and #3 on Billboard's Top 200, is the best selling debut country album of 2009. “How Far Do You Wanna Go?” has already climbed to #21 on the Music Row chart after only a few weeks. The video captures the foursome’s energy and big sound that have made Gloriana one of the best new artists in country music this year. The video was voted by fans into the Top 20 on GAC, can be seen on CMT, and can be purchased on iTunes.
