Nashville, TN - September 17, 2010 - On September 9, country star Darryl Worley performed for the 116th Calvary Brigade Combat Team send-off picnic at Gowen Field in Boise, ID. Worley performed a private concert for Soldiers, National Guardsmen, and Reservists, who are scheduled for a year-long deployment to Iraq. While there, he met Idaho Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter, First Lady Lori Otter, and U.S. Senator Mike Crapo.
"Anytime we get the chance to show our appreciation, we are happy to do it," says Worley. "God bless those who stand between us and harm's way."
A long-time supporter of the troops, Worley will be announcing plans soon for his upcoming "God & Country" tour, where he is set to perform for several military bases across the country. The free concerts will be open to soldiers families and the public as a way to give back to each community.
