From Marty Martel:   Just received news that Terry Bethel, steel guitarist for Mel Tillis was injured in an automobile accident at 11AM on I-44 four miles west of Doolittle, MO on Sept. 5, 2010.

THE DRIVER REPORTED THAT THE VEHICLE STEERING SEEMED TO BE DEFECTIVE AND THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, CROSSED THE MEDIAN, STRUCK A HIGHWAY SIGN, THEN BECAME AIRBORNE AND CROSSED THE EASTBOUND LANES OF I-44.  THE VEHICLE OVERTURNED SEVERAL TIMES AND STRUCK A ROCK OUTCROPPING BEFORE COMING TO REST.

I do not have any other info at this time.  The report says “Minor” injuries, so please keep Terry in your prayers at this time, that he has a speedy recovery.  I will send out any other info that I receive as soon as I can get a better report on the accident.  Just thought all of you should know.
