KENNY CHESNEY: New Album, “Hemingway’s Whiskey,” Available Tuesday!

Autumn has officially arrived, and right on cue, Kenny Chesney’s new album, Hemingway’s Whiskey — featuring his blockbuster hit, “The Boys of Fall” — is set for release Tuesday, September 28th! Available in an 11-track version, as well as a deluxe, limited-edition 13-song package that comes with a bonus DVD, the album is one that Kenny says effectively captures the different sides to his personality, whether it’s the thoughtful balladeer or the high-energy showman who rocks it out on stage.
  • The deluxe edition bonus DVD delivers a half-hour of Kenny, including a special thank-you to the fans; an in-studio look at the recording of “You and Tequila,” Kenny’s collaboration with Grace Potter; and Kenny’s song-by-song commentary on the deluxe edition’s 13 tracks.
  • In addition to the album collaboration with Grace Potter on “You and Tequila,” it features another very special guest — the legendary George Jones — who duets with Kenny on the song, “Small Y’all.”
  • Kenny says that the album title — also one of the songs on the album — was one that he loved not just because of how well it seemed to fit him, but also because it was an intriguing title.
  • Look for Kenny all over the TV airwaves in the week to come!
Monday (9/27): Catch the premiere of an all-new, all-Kenny edition of Invitation Only, at 10pm ET, on CMT.
Tuesday (9/28): Look for Kenny on ABC’s Good Morning America, in an appearance that will include a performance of ”The Boys of Fall.” Also see Kenny as he guests on GAC’s On the Streets, in the new episode premiering Tuesday at 2pm, ET, and re-airing at 8pm, ET.
And Kenny bookends the weekend with a Friday (10/1) interview and performance on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and a Monday (10/4) interview and performance on the syndicated Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“I think in this record that there are traces of a lot of different sides of me. I think that I’m totally capable of being two different people, you know, (laughs) in my everyday life and especially as an artist, and…because there is a big part of me that really wants to be on stage and never do a ballad, ever. But there’s also a part of me that wants to write a record like Be as You Are and Lucky Old Sun, because that’s how I live a lot of my life, you know? And so, I think with this album, with Hemingway’s Whiskey, I have kind of combined a little bit of those two worlds.”“There are some songs on this record — like ‘Live a Little’ and ‘Reality’ — that I know I’m gonna do live, you know, and they’re gonna be a part of our live show forever.”“I felt like the song described…it did fit me, a lot, and I felt like it was just…that the title in itself was interesting. I felt like that it was…it made people, when they see that and they even hear the phrase, Hemingway’s Whiskey…well, what’s that about? You know, what’s…I think it draws you in.”

I've always been a believer in the strength of the song. My problem is I'm a country singer who's had a lot of other musical influences, so my stuff is going to tend to be more AC. That's always been my slam in country music, that I was never a true country artist, even though &q
