FOLEY, Ala. (WALA) - All 9000 free tickets went up for grabs Saturday morning for Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley concerts at the Gulf. Many camped out all night to get their hands on them.
Some brought blankets and chairs. Some brought nothing at all. The one thing they didn't need to bring was money. Thousands of Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley fans wrapped around the Foley City Hall waiting to get free tickets to the next Concert for the Coast.
"Anyone who has a valid, government-issued, photo ID. That's going to be the criteria," said Foley official Sandra Pate.
The doors opened at 8 a.m., and the first one through the door was Rene Williams. She had been waiting on the sidewalk since 1 p.m. Friday.
"First one here ready to go. Bon Jovi here we come," said Williams.
It was a long wait for many, but those with tickets said the wait was worth it.
David and Jetta Weaver got tickets for both shows.
"She said we both had to come out here if we want to both shows, and I got to thinking, you're right. So that's what we did, and I got in line for Brad and she got in line for Bon Jovi," said David Weaver.
The Bon Jovi concert will be Friday, October 15 and Brad Paisley will be performing on Sunday, October 17. Thunder on the Gulf is also happening that weekend
