Nashville, TN (September 22, 2010) --- The eagerly anticipated 1951 WSM/Mothers Best recordings of Hank Williams, one of the major musical pioneers of American music, will be available September 28, 2010.  Hank Williams: The Complete Mother’s Best Recordings….Plus! features seventy-two complete fifteen minute shows that provides over eighteen hours of music and revealing Hank conversations literally never heard in nearly 6 decades. The deluxe box set increases Williams’ music catalog by fifty percent! The collection is available from Time Life and early pre-orders are being accepted at www.hankwilliamsmothersbest.com or by calling (212) 991-5195. The first three hundred pre-orders will be accompanied by a specially designed t-shirt or other memorabilia.

This treasure trove of undiscovered music has been generating strong support from major media outlets, such as Spin Magazine.  The publication has made the box set a lead review in the September 21st issue.  Columnist, Andrew Hultkrans, writes; Capturing debuts of songs like “Cold, Cold Heart” days after they were written, the acetates offer an intimate portrait of Williams’ personality that rivals any biography.   The additional extensive upcoming press reaches all genres of music (Pop, Rock, Country and Americana) and covers television, radio stations, syndicated radio programs, print and music websites.  The media coverage includes; Rolling Stone MagazinePaste Magazinemultiple NPR national programs: The Diane Rehm Show/Here and Now/Fresh AirSirius/XM’s The RoadhousePopMatters.comLA WeeklyVariety.comSlant MagazineWall Street JournalVintage Guitar Magazine,TennesseanCountry WeeklyCMT.comAOL’s TheBoot.comDallas Morning NewsWSM Radio’s Intimate Evening With Eddie Stubbs at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

These timeless recordings are from the pinnacle of Williams’ career and he prerecorded his Mother’s Best shows when he was planning to be out on tour.  The acetates miraculously survived and give the listener a personal, intimate connection with this American music legend, where Williams was unguarded in both his conversation and choice of songs.  Fans can hear him perform songs from his childhood and debut two new recordings at the time, “Cold, Cold Heart” and “I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still In Love With You).” The sound quality of these exceptional radio shows is at least comparable to his studio recordings, and many critics have remarked that the “direct-to-disc” Mother’s Best recordings actually have more presence and clarity.

Hank Williams Complete Mother Best Recordings….Plus! is comprised of fifteen audio discs and a bonus DVD. The shows contain so many priceless moments, including many songs he never recorded elsewhere such as “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” and “On Top of Old Smoky.” On the DVD, two of Hank’s original band members give their last interviews on tape, Don Helms and Big Bill Lester.  The project also contains a 108 page book, written by respected music writer and Hank Williams historian, Colin Escott, along with an introduction by Hank Williams, Jr. and afterword by Jett Williams.  This deluxe, limited box set is packaged in an antique working radio where the listener presses the radio dial and selections of Williams will play.

I've always been a believer in the strength of the song. My problem is I'm a country singer who's had a lot of other musical influences, so my stuff is going to tend to be more AC. That's always been my slam in country music, that I was never a true country artist, even though &q

Text messages and tweets by three fugitive siblings who shot at a police officer and robbed a bank reveal a dangerous mindset and a firm bond between the siblings, "We've certainly seen their mindset when... They shot at a law enforcement officer outside of Tampa Bay, Fla., and when they fired inside that bank in Valdosta, Ga. But these additional texts and tweets have given us additional insight," FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett told "Good Morning America" today. " We are concerned and feel that they are going to continue and cause problems to say the least for law enforcement." Ryan Dougherty, 21; his sister Lee Grace E. Dougherty, 29; and half-brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26, have been on the lam since Aug. 2 when they shot at a police officer attempting to pull their white Subaru Impreza over for speeding.
