(NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE...) -- September 13, 2010 -- Buddy Jewell kicked off his new tour in Munster, Indiana last week, but he and his band almost didn't make it to the first date. An hour away from the venue, around 7:00 a.m., his bus hit a chunk of rock or metal and they immediately started smelling leaking fuel. They exited I-65 in Fair Oaks, Indiana and alerted the state police about the object then called a tow truck and rental car company to get to the venue. Though all of the inconvenience, Buddy admitted there were some "cool" moments.
"We met some great folks because of the mishap including Officer Benner, (thanks, I've never ridden in the front seat of a police car!) Thanks to Mike and his family at Village Motors in Lake Village, Indiana for the tow and Scott's Body Shop in Demotte, Indiana for the repairs."
They were good to go by the end of the gig and made it safely to hit dates in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska over the weekend. Over the next two weeks, Buddy's tour will make two more stops in Kansas, five in Texas and one each in Arkansas and Louisiana.
