JASON ALDEAN CONTINUES TO COMMAND THE CHARTS
WITH HIS LATEST NO. ONE “THE TRUTH”

2010 WIDE OPEN Tour Kicks-Off with Record Breaking Crowds

NASHVILLE, TENN – Jan.  26, 2010 – Chart-topping country rocker Jason Aldean continues to dominate Billboard’s country chart with a third consecutive No. one smash “The Truth,” off his PLATINUM release WIDE OPEN.  In the past nine months, Aldean has held the top spot for an impressive seven weeks.

“I know I sound like a broken record lately, but I’ve been working to have a year like we just had since I was 14 years old,” says Aldean.  “We had such a killer time on the road opening this leg of the tour and it means so much to see all of the fans singing every word of ‘The Truth’ along with us.”

Aldean’s current chart-topper comes on the heels of a record breaking show in Greenville, SC at the BI –LO Center for the opening weekend of his 2010 WIDE OPEN tour.  With nearly 12,000 fans packing the house, Aldean broke the venue’s attendance record that was previously held by Toby Keith for six years. Aldean continued the momentum with another sellout in his hometown of Macon, GA, quickly matching the pace of his 17 consecutive sold out fall tour dates in 2009.

“I’ve done hundreds of shows in this building and Jason and his band’s performance last Friday was one for the ages," said Roger Newton, General Manager of the BI-LO Center. “The sold out crowd was one of the most enthusiastic and energetic group of fans we have had in a long time.”

Aldean’s third studio album, WIDE OPEN hit big out of the gate dominating the No. one spot on the country charts for a total of six weeks in 2009 with “She’s Country” and “Big Green Tractor.” Aldean received his career first American Music Award nomination in 2009 and recorded his first live DVD WIDE OPEN LIVE & MORE, which has also been certified GOLD.

I've always been a believer in the strength of the song. My problem is I'm a country singer who's had a lot of other musical influences, so my stuff is going to tend to be more AC. That's always been my slam in country music, that I was never a true country artist, even though &q

ARRESTED now in Colorado...but what a story and week for 2 brothers and their stripper sister! Text messages and tweets by three fugitive siblings who shot at a police officer and robbed a bank reveal a dangerous mindset and a firm bond between the siblings, "We've certainly seen their mindset when... They shot at a law enforcement officer outside of Tampa Bay, Fla., and when they fired inside that bank in Valdosta, Ga. But these additional texts and tweets have given us additional insight," FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett told "Good Morning America" today. " We are concerned and feel that they are going to continue and cause problems to say the least for law enforcement." Ryan Dougherty, 21; his sister Lee Grace E. Dougherty, 29; and half-brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26, have been on the lam since Aug. 2 when they shot at a police officer attempting to pull their white Subaru Impreza over for speeding.
