Duo To Perform “The Star-Spangled Banner”
At Predators-Avalanche Match-Up
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 25, 2010)—The spunky and flirtatious country music duo Burns & Poe (Blue Steel Records) will heat up the ice to perform the national anthem for the Nashville Predators hockey team next week, Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 7:00 P.M. Central, when the team faces the Colorado Avalanche at the Sommet Center in downtown Nashville.
“We couldn’t be more excited to sing in support of our hometown Predators; this Georgia boy and Florida gal are taking it to the ice,”Keith Burns states. “They don’t call it ‘Smashville’ for nothin’…the Avalanche are gonna come crashing down!”
“I go to nearly every home game; I love to see them get the ‘thing in the thing' [wink, puck in the goal],” said Michelle Poe. “This is the first time I’ll actually make it on the jumbo-tron!”
“She just wants to show off her new matching hat and scarf set,” Burns adds in jest.
Sharing parts equally, Burns & Poe will perform their rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” a cappella.
The face-off for Burns & Poe begins in 2010. With Barbie and Ken looks and Sonny and Cher shtick, the pairing combines the extraordinary talents of Keith Burns (Trick Pony) and Michelle Poe (formerly a Dreamworks recording artist and bassist for Hank Williams, Jr. and Dierks Bentley.)
