Larry the Cable Guy has a 4th of July Blast

Jack Records/Warner Bros. Records Comedian Larry the Cable Guy will release his first 4th Of July Special, Tailgate Party, digitally on the holiday. The digital download package will be distributed exclusively by Basecamp Productions and will be available at http://live.larrythecableguy.com. The special was taped during a unique performance at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE on Independence Day in support of Husker Fans on the UNL Campus. Larry's appearance was in conjunction with The City Of Lincoln's 2-day event, "Uncle Sam Jam."

While the football stadium and field were generally not used for non-athletic events of this kind, the Athletic Department sponsored the show as a way for Larry the Cable Guy and Athletics to thank Husker fans for their support.

Prior to the taping, Larry The Cable Guy said, "I am looking forward to the Fourth of July show at the stadium. It's a dream come true for me as I spent every football season since I was a little kid in Pawnee city listening to games coming from that field."

Larry continued, "I'd much rather be playing linebacker but since I'm a chubby middle aged man that runs the 40 in 37 seconds and pull a muscle every time I put on my socks, I'll have to stick to telling jokes on the field. I'm very honored that the university has given me permission to tape my Comedy Central special there and also excited to give my fans a show for 4 bucks. I love my home state and am very grateful for the opportunity to perform for them on this special night. Thanks to my fans for making this a possibility. Go Huskers!"

In partnership with Basecamp Productions, a digital distribution company, the special will be available for only $10.00. The high-quality recording will be DRM-Free and encoded as 256K MP3's.
