Teddy Gentry’s Concert Series kicks off in Nashville with Rockit City!
After several years off the road, Teddy Gentry of the country group Alabama, hits the stage again. 2011 is shaping up to be a year of performing for Teddy Gentry. His concert series starts January 21, 2011, 7:30pm at 3rd and Lindsley, with subsequent shows on Feb 15th, March 1st and March 15th.
The Jan 21st musical event celebrates Teddy’s 59th Birthday, his official birthday is Jan 22. It’s also the debut performance of his newest band project, Rockit City. The band is comprised of Teddy on bass, and six of Nashville’s most talented singer, songwriters and musicians: Billy Davis, guitar and vocals, Charles English, guitar, Chip Davis, keys and vocals, Dillon Dixon, acoustic and vocals, Jimmy Stewart, guitar, dobro, fiddle and vocals, and Shawn Fichter rounding out the group on drums.
Teddy has divided his time between raising his SouthPoll cattle breed in his hometown of Ft. Payne, AL and songwriting and producing in Nashville. He stays busy in the studio with several talented new artists. This spring, he will introduce a compilation of 12 new artists, 12 new songs. “I’ve had the opportunity to watch Teddy in the studio with a few artists…his patience and expertise that he shares with each artist is remarkable,” claims TinaMarie Holland, Pres. of NY-LA-NASH Entertainment. “Each artist benefits tremendously from his 30+ years of experience, what a gift.”
Joining him on stage for his second set on Jan 21st at 3rd and Lindsley will be Amber Shalene, Brad Long, Garrett Steele, Laura Fedor, Samantha Landrum, SouthWind and 3 Lanes Crossing, as well as performances by special guests. The Jan 21st Birthday celebration is open to the public.
