Joanna Smith Covers Country Radio In “Georgia Mud” On February 7
Columbia Nashville newcomer Joanna Smith is ready to hit the country airwaves with a new single on February 7th, which marks the official radio impact date of “Georgia Mud.” Joanna was recently named one of Billboard Magazine’s “Artists To Watch In 2011,” as well as “One To Watch in 2011” by Roughstock.com and one of the “New Faces On The Music Scene” by Variety Magazine.
The single has already received rave reviews from music critics such as MusicRow Magazine’s Robert Oermann who praises that it is “sweetly romantic, with a cool, crunchy backbeat and a vocal performance with a built-in smile.” Roughstock.com adds, “’Georgia Mud’ is nothing short of charming - rich, and layered with shades of emotion.”
“’Georgia Mud’ is about the lingering effects of young love,” says Joanna. “Years after the pain has gone you can look back on it sentimentally. The song is set against a scenic backdrop in Georgia which is where I grew up, experienced young love and wallowed around in the mud,” she laughs. “Anyone who has that first love scar can relate to the song and reminisce.”
The new song is from her forthcoming debut album, of which she wrote all but one song. Fans can hear and purchase “Georgia Mud” online immediately at www.joannasmithofficial.com. The single officially impacts on February 7, and is at radio now.
