SUPERSTAR MARTINA MCBRIDE PERFORMING ANTHEM AT
AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
January 21, 2011 (Nashville, TN) – Country music superstar Martina McBride has signed on to sing the National Anthem at this Sunday’s AFC Championship game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets. McBride has been a good luck charm for the Steelers thus far and the Steelers’ wouldn’t mind her luck again.
“Martina is 2-0 and we hope she brings the magic to stay undefeated,” exclaims John Wodarek, Steelers Marketing Manager.
McBride doesn’t mind being a good luck charm and she is honored to be a part of the excitement.
“Singing our National Anthem is always an honor. I will always remember singing the anthem in Pittsburgh 2 years ago for the playoff game,” exclaims McBride. “It's amazing to be there in the middle of all those football fans and all that excitement, I can't wait!”
Fans can tune in to CBS to see the performance broadcast live from Heinz Field on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 6:30 pm eastern.
