THE OAK RIDGE BOYS PERFORMANCE OF “G.I. JOE & LILLIE” NOW HAS OVER 2 MILLION VIEWS ON YOUTUBE

Nashville, TN (January 5, 2011) – Several years agoJoe Bonsall wrote a song to honor his parents, both members of the U.S. military during World War II. The Oak Ridge Boys took part in a patriotic television show which was directed and produced by Sherman Halsey.  During the performance they sang the song,G.I. Joe & Lillie, as a tribute to Bonsall’s parents, shortly after their passing. A video of the performance was uploaded to YouTube by a fan and has now exceeded an astonishing two million views.

Bonsall, who is also the author of the bestselling book, G.I. Joe & Lillie: Remembering a Life of Love and Loyalty, is amazed at the way his story has spread. “Over 2 million people have watched us sing this song which honors not only my mom and dad but all who have served," Bonsall explains. “Over Veterans Day alone there were well over 150,000 views. The Oak Ridge Boys consider that an honor as we have so much love and respect for our Vets!”
