“SOMEWHERE WITH YOU”IS KENNY CHESNEY’S 21st NUMBER 1 SONG

Chesney Stays Busy With Hot Singles, Albums, Tickets Sales, ESPN Specials & More

NASHVILLETN -- Although 2011 is just a few weeks old, Kenny Chesney is already making his mark on what will be another record setting year for the singer/songwriter/performer. Chesney scores his 21st Number One Single with “Somewhere With You,” from his current album Hemingway’s Whiskey. Upon its release, the album debuted at Number One on the Billboard Top 200 and Country Album Chart and has already yielded the chart topping song “The Boys of Fall.”

On “Somewhere With You,” Chesney says, “I thought this song was very unique from the first time I heard it. I’m looking forward to singing it live this summer when we get back out on the road and connect one on one with the fans.”

Speaking of Chesney’s live shows, with only 12 tour dates on sale, Chesney has already sold more than 400,000 tickets, putting him well on track to surpassing another one million tickets sold in touring year. That would be his ninth year to achieve that feat. “Obviously the fans are eager to have Kenny back out on the road this year,” says Louis Messina, president of TMG/AEG Live.  “In spite of a challenging environment, the fans are ready to put aside their worries and spend a night having fun with Chesney,” he continued.

Corona Presents Kenny Chesney’s “Goin’ Coastal” Tour kicks off March 17 in West Palm Beach, Fl and includes 10 stadium shows (2 of which are already sold out) and 41 arenas and amphitheaters. Chesney’s high-energy live show will include some of his many hits and new music from Hemingway’s Whiskey.
With preparations for the tour underway, Chesney is also putting the finishing touches on his ESPN documentary, The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story. Chesney is producing the special for ESPN’s Year of the Quarterback imitative and the documentary will air February 20 at 8:00 pm eastern.  Holloway was the first African-American quarterback in the SEC and as a kid from eastTennessee, Chesney idolized and wore his jersey number.

And so begins another busy year for the 4-time Country Music Association and 4-in-a-row-Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year winner. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
