iTunes “Countdown” To NEED YOU NOW Begins Mon., Dec. 21
 
 
NASHVILLE, TN –Dec. 17, 2009 – GRAMMY nominated trio and 2009 CMA “Group of the Year” Lady Antebellum’s smash lead single “Need You Now” has been certified PLATINUM by the RIAA for sales of over one million. The track is the lead single off their sophomore album NEED YOU NOW, out Jan. 26, 2010.

“Need You Now” has also set a new record for the longest reign at No. one this year, spending five consecutive weeks in the top spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The song also cracked the Top Five on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and parked at No. one for eight weeks on the Billboard Canada Country chart.
 
Fans eagerly awaiting NEED YOU NOW to hit stores will be able to purchase new material off the album before its release as part of the band's iTunes Countdown. "Need You Now" and "American Honey" will officially kick off the countdown, starting on December 21st. Thereafter, one new track will be released at iTunes each week leading up to the album's Jan. 26 debut. The iTunes Complete My Album service allows customers to turn their individually purchased tracks into a complete album by giving them a full 99 cent credit for every song they have previously bought from that album.
