SPECIAL GUEST LUKE BRYAN JOINS ALDEAN FOR THREE MONTH RUN
Nashville, TN – Dec. 8, 2009 - After selling out the entire fall run of his WIDE OPEN arena tour, PLATINUM selling country rocker Jason Aldean has announced that he will extend the hugely successful tour into 2010. Rising star and fellow Georgia boy Luke Bryan will join Aldean as a special guest on the nearly 30-city tour, kicking off in Greenville, SC on Jan. 22 and including an already sold out hometown stop at the Macon Centreplex Coliseum.
“Luke and I grew up playing in some of the same clubs down in Georgia, so it will be really cool to have him out with us…playing bigger rooms with bigger crowds,” said Aldean. “He’s a total trip, so we’ll definitely have some laughs backstage every night. I’m pumped about this tour, and I can’t wait to take a few weeks off for the holidays and get right back out there.”
Aldean’s PLATINUM album WIDE OPEN hit big out of the gate, dominating the No. one spot on the country charts for a total of six weeks in 2009 with “She’s Country” and “Big Green Tractor.” Aldean received his career first American Music Award nomination and released his first live DVD WIDE OPEN LIVE & MORE, which has also been certified GOLD. He shows no signs of slowing down as his new single “The Truth” pushes its way toward the Top 10 at the same dizzying pace.
Bryan released his second album for Capitol Records Nashville in October, DOIN’ MY THING, making its debut at No. two on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No. six on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 album chart selling over 57,000 albums. The record’s first single “Do I” has become his highest charting single to date, landing and holding at No. two, and the video reigned at No. one for seven consecutive weeks on GAC. Since the release of his first album in 2007, Bryan has solidified his place among the ranks of some of country music’s biggest and most promising rising stars with his first top ten hits (“All My Friends Say” and “Country Man”), two major award nominations and national sponsorship deals.
