DIERKS BENTLEY INVITES PATTY GRIFFIN TO JOIN HIM ON
LOPEZ TONIGHT FOR A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE OF THEIR
GRAMMY NOMINATED COLLABORATION “BEAUTIFUL WORLD”

Bentley Raises $200,000 at Sold Out “Miles & Music” in Phoenix

NASHVILLE, TN – DEC. 7, 2009 – Seven-time GRAMMY nominee Dierks Bentley has been tapped as the first country artist to perform on late night’s hottest new show Lopez Tonight on Tues., Dec. 8 at 10pm CST on TBS. Bentley will be joined by special guest Patty Griffin for a performance of “Beautiful World,” recently nominated for a 2010 GRAMMY Award in the “Country Collaboration with Vocals” category.

Written by Bentley, Brett Beavers and Jim Beavers, the poignant “Beautiful World” is about recognizing there are two ways to look at your reality and appreciating life despite the daily delivery of bad news.

“It’s a fine line to walk because you don’t want to act like everything is great when it’s not, but the point is that if you choose to believe in something, hopefully your beliefs will lead to action.  Patty’s voice adds so much depth that I can’t even remember what the original version sounded like,” explains Bentley.  “It’s really cool that the Lopez folks are going to let us perform it on their show…it will be the first time Patty and I have ever performed it live together.”

“Beautiful World” was recently offered as a free download through CMT ONE COUNTRY in support of Bentley’s national “Miles & Music for Kids” charity event.  Check out the exclusive video featuring Griffin here

To that end, Bentley’s “Miles & Music for Kids” charity motorcycle ride and concert series made a stop in Phoenix on Nov. 21 and raised $200,000 for Phoenix Childrens Hospital over the course of the weekend, bringing the 2009 total for both the Nashville and Phoenix events to over $400,000. Bentley was joined by Jessi Colter, Jimmy Wayne, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers and a sold-out crowd of over 3,400 bikers and fans.

The singer/songwriter is wrapping up 2009 with a string of headlining west coast dates this week, hitting the Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA, on Dec. 9, followed by a two-night stand in Las Vegas on Dec. 10 and 11, and Winterhaven, CA, on Dec. 12.
