March 19, 2013 ... The countdown is on until the official launch of the highly anticipated new tour by country music's most iconic group ALABAMA. But before Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook launch their 2013 Back to the Bowery Tour, they will hold a very special fan appreciation concert to relive the memories made from the very stage where it all started back in 1973. On Thursday, April 4, ALABAMA will perform at the historic Bowery in Myrtle Beach, SC in a free concert for those who have supported their career over the past 40 years. Current fan club members will have the opportunity to win their way into the intimate concert through a special lottery drawing, with the remaining standing room only capacity being available to follow on a first come, first serve basis. ALABAMA first got their musical start at the Bowery back in 1973 when the three cousins from Ft. Payne, Alabama were selected as the venue's summertime house band. From there, they went on to break records and make history as one of the most recognized and respected bands in country music. As seasoned performers, concert goers are guaranteed to enjoy a stellar show with back-to-back hits, including "Song of the South," "Love in the First Degree," "If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)," and many more. The 2013 Back to the Bowery Tour officially kicks-off April 5 and 6 with two sold-out performances at the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach. With more than a dozen dates previously announced, additional dates continue to be added to the tour, including Atlanta, where a second show is set for May 18 at the Fox Theatre. In addition to their new tour, the group will also set sail on their very first ALABAMA & Friends Festival at Sea cruise October 24-28, bringing many of the group's musical friends together for a floating party from Miami to the Bahamas and Great Stirrup Cay. With lots of musical entertainment planned for everyone on board, fans will not only get to meet the band and take home autographed memorabilia, but will also be treated to several one of a kind activities over the four days including all of the amenities of the Norwegian Pearl: gaming casinos, spas, exclusive dining options, bars, multiple pools, hot tubs and more. The Texas-based ice cream company has been slowly reintroducing its flavors to many of the markets it had withdrawn from after last year's fatal Listeria outbreak forced them to completely shut down production for a time. During the shutdown, the company worked with outside experts to control and eliminate potential sources of Listeria inside the Texas and Oklahoma facilities where the outbreak originated.
