Nashville, Tennessee (March 10, 2011) – It’s a celebration of firsts for Sunny Sweeney, whose Republic Nashville debut single, “From A Table Away,” has escalated into the Top 10 on both Billboard and Mediabase Country Charts. This excitement comes just after the announcement that she will join her first major tour – Brad Paisley’s H2O II: Wetter & Wilder World Tour – this spring.
“From A Table Away” garnered Sweeney the highest-charting debut single of a solo female Country artist in the last four years since Taylor Swift’s “Tim McGraw,” which peaked at #6 in January 2007.
Beginning May 28 Sweeney will hit the road with Brad Paisley on his H2O II: Wetter & Wilder World Tour, which kicks off at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA and continues throughout the summer. During the run she will showcase songs on her current EP, which skyrocketed into the Top 5 on the iTunes Country Albums Chart just hours after it was released, as well as several new tunes. Sweeney co-wrote 7 of the 10 tracks from her forthcoming album, slated for release later this year.
Headline Country went behind-the-scenes with Sunny last month for a tour of the Grand Ole Opry, where she was invited to perform for the 23rd time since her debut in 2007. Catch this glimpse of Country music history and its future tonight, March 10, at 9:00pm EST/8:00pm CST on Great American Country (GAC).
