Top 10 as It Mines RIAA Gold!

Nashville, TN – After more than five million albums sold, award-winning RCA Nashville songstress Sara Evans delivered her first new studio album in more than five years last week, and the fans came out in force, blasting Evans’Stronger straight to a #1 debut on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.  With first-week sales in excess of 55,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan, Stronger also soars onto the all-genre Billboard 200 album chart, landing at #6.

Fans anxious for new music from Evans have clearly responded in a big way, as already indicated by Stronger’s first hit single, the Luke Laird/Hillary Lindsey/Hillary Scott-penned “A Little Bit Stronger.”  Currently #13 and climbing on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and #15 on the Country Aircheck airplay chart, “A Little Bit Stronger” has not only become a radio favorite, but also a huge seller, this week crossing the 500,000 digital download benchmark to earn RIAA Gold Digital Single certification.

The single has been hailed by People magazine as the “emotional centerpiece” of an album that People celebrates as a “potent country comeback,” while The Washington Post trumpets Evans’ “voluptuous alto and unwavering conviction,” and Country Weekly praises, her “sound is rich Southern comfort, delivered organically and with authenticity.”

Readers can be watching for a three-page feature on Evans in the new issue of People magazine, on sale later this week.

An ACM and CMA Award-winning recording artist, Sara’s career includes such #1 hits as “Born to Fly,” “No Place That Far,” “Suds in the Bucket,” and “A Real Fine Place to Start.”
