SETTLEMENT REACHED BY SARA EVAN'S EX-HUSBAND CRAIG SCHELSKE SLANDER LAWSUIT
Nashville, Tennessee (MMD Newswire) March 31, 2011 -- Oregon Politician and ex-husband of Country singer, Sara Evans, Craig Schelske announced his acceptance of a settlement offer with prominent Nashville, Tennessee divorce attorney, John Hollins, Sr. and Hollins, Wagster, Yarbrough, Weatherly & Raybin, P.C., regarding the slander lawsuit, Schelske vs. Hollins. Hollins conceded to Schelske late afternoon on Thursday March 24, with an undisclosed settlement.
Hollins succumbed to the pressure imposed by Schelske in light of the impending truth regarding the falsity of Hollins' statement made to People Magazine where Hollins claimed that he had photos depicting Schelske in sexual situations.
"... Let me tell you what, everything we allege, we've got photographs to back up the allegations of the complaint," Hollins told People magazine during the divorce proceedings.
The two week trial would have commenced on Monday March 28, in front of the Honorable Davidson County, Tennessee judicial judge, Amanda McClendon. Following almost 5 years of scrutiny and litigation over various issues, Schelske and his attorney Jeffrey Miller, of Cleveland, TN are very pleased and satisfied with Hollins' settlement offer.
"This has been a difficult and hard fight but I am humbled and grateful for the support and prayers of so many people. I truly hope that my experience can, and will, help others who have no other choice but to persevere through such ordeals," said Craig.
