Camaro Coupe Spotted as Official 2011 Daytona 500 Pace Car!

It appears that the 2011 Camaro will serve as the pace car for the 2011 Daytona 500 race, wrestling back the spot from the Mustang, which was last year’s Daytona 500 pace car. GM engineers were recently putting the 2011 Camaro Daytona 500 Pace Car through some shakedown tests at GM’s proving grounds in Michigan, no doubt to work out any potential kinks prior to its debut on February 20, 2011 at the Daytona 500.

This Camaro pace car showcases the 2011 Camaro Synergy Series special edition Camaro which will be available this year [More Info HERE].
The Camaro coupe last served as the Dayton 500 pace car in 2009. Beyond the Daytona 500, it was also recently announced that the 2011 Camaro SS convertible will pace this year’s Indy 500 race. The pace car was just revealed at the Barrett Jackson auctions.
