HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS FOR
GRAMMY WINNER MIRANDA LAMBERT

Lambert Brings Her 4th Annual Cause for the Paws Benefit
to the Heart of Her Hometown

Nashville, TN (February 24, 2011) --- Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Miranda Lambert began rescuing “strays” at the age of 3. First, 2 kittens (Molly and Daisy) then along came her first rescue puppy, a beagle named Ruby. She later moved to her hometown of Lindale, TX and her passion continued. Twenty five years later (and more than 20 adopted animals), Lambert’s bringing her “Cause for the Paws” back to where it all began.  On April 30th, the 4th Annual Cause for the Paws Benefit will be held at the “Festival on the Square” site in downtown Tyler, TX.  Country music star Lambert will bring together friends and family along with special musical guests, Stoney LaRue, Josh Kelley and Texas singer/songwriter Bri Bagwell, for a night filled with good music, good will and good times.

Tickets for this year’s concert go on sale Friday, February 25th at 10 a.m. central. Cause for the Paws, which has raised over $400,000 for animal related charities alone, is part of the many fundraising activities of Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation which was officially formed in 2008.  Over a half million dollars has been raised through annual concerts, direct donations and other fundraising mechanisms for East Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma Animal Shelters.

Lambert is thrilled that “Ran Fans” and the East Texas citizens have become a vital part of the fundraiser, which has allowed The Humane Society of East Texas to become a no kill sanctuary since the fundraiser’s inception. Lambert adopted her own dog, Delilah, from the shelter and hopes this year’s event continues to raise valuable funds to benefit the homeless animals of East Texas.

"Bringing our event to downtown Tyler is really exciting for me,” said Lambert. “The event will be bigger and better in hopes that we can raise even more money for animal shelters and animal adoption transport. It’s a fun time and a worthwhile cause not only for our hometown area but I’m hoping the funds and awareness can help many other shelters and animals who need a loving home.”

Lambert added, “I appreciate the fans support for the past three years and I look forward to seeing everyone come out again this year. Together we are making a difference!”

MuttNation Foundation's mission is to raise funds through donations from the officers and directors of the Foundation and the general public, through direct donations, occasional benefit concerts, and other fundraising mechanisms in order to support other 501(c)(3) organizations and governmental institutions or entities whose purpose is to build animal shelters for better care; increase pet adoption and encourage responsible pet guardianship; rehabilitate sick or unsocialized animals; fund spay/neuter programs; reduce/eliminate euthanasia of healthy animals; and train shelter dogs for purposes of therapy programs, assistance for wounded military personnel and dogs-in-prisons programs.

Lambert recently scored her first Grammy award for “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” for “The House That Built Me” and performed the #1 hit on the CBS televised show.  Lambert will perform on the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards on April 3rd where she is up is for a record breaking (most nominations by a solo female vocalist) seven ACM nominations including Entertainer of the Year, Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Single Record of the Year for “The House That Built Me,” Song of the Year for “The House That Built Me,” Video of the Year for “The House That Built Me,” and “Only Prettier,” Vocal Event of the Year for “Coal Miner’s Daughter” with Sheryl Crow and Loretta Lynn. .

In 2010, she was nominated for a record-setting nine CMA awards and took home the trophies for three of those, including Album of the Year (Revolution), Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year for “The House That Built Me.”  She received her first AMA nomination for Favorite Female Country Artist and won her first ever fan-voted CMT Award, for Female Video of the Year.  Earlier in the year, she scored  ACM wins for Album of the Year (Revolution), Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year (White Liar).  Her second single from Revolution, "The House That Built Me," held the Number 1 position for 4 straight weeks.  It followed “White Liar” which was Miranda’s first career No.1 single.  Miranda newest single is “Heart Like Mine.”

I've always been a believer in the strength of the song. My problem is I'm a country singer who's had a lot of other musical influences, so my stuff is going to tend to be more AC. That's always been my slam in country music, that I was never a true country artist, even though &q
