Fans Invited for FREE Legends Race and Open House at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 12

HAMPTON, Ga. (Feb. 23, 2011) - Atlanta Motor Speedway will host a free Open House for race fans and the surrounding community from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, including short-track racing, the opportunity to drive their car on the Speedway's 1.54-mile track and a chance to win a large Big Green Egg smoker.

The free Open House event will feature the championship round of the track's Winter Flurry Legends racing season and fan entertainment, plus the opportunity for NASCAR fans to pick their preferred frontstretch seats for Atlanta Motor Speedway's Labor Day weekend of NASCAR night racing, Sept. 2-4.

Fans reserving Labor Day weekend tickets for as little as a $20 down payment can drive their own vehicle on Atlanta's quad oval following the conclusion of Winter Flurry racing at 3:00 p.m. Fans who have already purchased tickets to the NASCAR Labor Day weekend can visit the AMS ticket office to receive a free voucher to drive the track.

Additional entertainment at the Open House will include:

-          FREE drawings for a large Big Green Egg smoker, WWE tickets, a Richard Petty Driving Experience Ride-Along and a $50 gift card to the Atlanta Motor Speedway Gift Shop, among other prizes
-          50 percent off NASCAR pit passes for fans purchasing tickets
-          15 percent off new 2011 NASCAR apparel and fans purchasing tickets on March 12 will receive an additional 10 percent off
-          Classic car show
-          Winter Flurry driver autograph session
-          Opportunity to take photos with the Atlanta Motor Speedway pace car and a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winner’s trophy
-          Tours of Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Race Control tower and suites

Patrons attending the Atlanta Motor Speedway Open House are asked to park at the Atlanta Motor Speedway Ticket Office where they can pick up their free admission ticket for the Open House event.

Atlanta Motor Speedway will open gates at 11:00 a.m. Racing and fan activities will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue through 3:00 p.m. Track Cruises will take place from 3:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m.
