THE DOOBIE BROTHERS TO MAKE GRAND OLE OPRY DEBUT

NASHVILLETenn.  (Feb. 18, 2011)  The iconic GRAMMY®-awarded group The Doobie Brothers will be making its Grand Ole Opry debut on Sat., Feb. 26.  Founding members Pat Simmons and Tom Johnston along with members John McFee (known to country music audiences for his days in Southern Pacific) and Guy Allison will be joined by touring member John Cowan, originally of New Grass Revival, in a performance of Doobie hits and songs from their newest release World Gone Crazy.
The Doobie Brothers, celebrated as one of the greatest American bands of all time, kick off their 40th Anniversary celebration in April 2011.  With countless hits and over 40 million records sold, the band has had a strong connection with country music throughout the years with such songs as “Black Water” and “Long Train Running.”  Their newest album, World Gone Crazy, continues the country connection with a guest performance from Willie Nelson on “I Know We Won.”  The title track goes to country radio as a single this week.
